There are more than 100,000 reported worldwide deaths annually from Snake Bites.  India has the most with more than 10,000 annually from the Cobra and Viper.  There 100,000 is a reported figure.  Given the rural nature of many snake bites it is assumed that there are many more.  Currently, there is a spate of snake bite deaths in the Philippines from the Philippine Cobra.  This is due in part because of the lack of anti-venom in the Philippines.
